Headshot looks for young actors.

Your headshot should always look like you, however much of the casting is done online now and this allows actors to have several looks to show casting. In the commercial industry many child actors will have 4-6 different headshot looks posted with their online casting resume and headshot profiles.

A child actor can portray several different types. What is your type? Well your headshot photographer, talent agent or talent manager should be able to help you determine this. You can also view T.V. and commercials to see what "type" you would realistically play.

Subtle wardrobe elements and expressions can create a look or show different types. Kids headshots can include Tomboy, athletic, sweet and innocent or geek looks. These are just a few of the different types that a casting director would need when casting a role for a child actor. If you book a headshot session with me I will help you determine which looks you should have and what wardrobe is recommended.

Congratulations!

Just want to congratulate and send a shout out to some vibrant young actors who are really rocking it in Hollywood this year.  Bailee Madison starring with Katie Holmes in "Don't be afraid of the dark".  11 year old Bailee Madison has shown Hollywood how capable she is and consequently she's been co-starring with several of Hollywoods top actors.  I've been privaleged to photograph Bailee many times and  I can honestly say I'm thrilled to see her winning, as she is absolutely beautiful inside and out.

Great Kids Headshots!

A headshot is not just a picture!  A headshot is a calling card and a vital marketing tool.  An actor can’t survive without a headshot.

With today’s online casting your kids' headshot needs to stand out in a sea of tiny thumbnails. The casting director views your itty bitty image next to several other child actors, and some of these may even resemble you. Casting may look at several pages of submitted actors for the role in a matter of moments.  Having a tight, close-up image that pops off the page is imperative if you want to get noticed.  Here is a sample of a typical thumbnail that a casting director would first see.

QUESTION:  What makes a great kids headshot?
ANSWER: It must look like you--AND, there must be some sort of great communication coming thru!  This is all done with lighting, composition & the ability of the photographer to pull that out &

KIDS HEADSHOTS, Babies, Kids & Teen Acting Headshots

If you want to audition for commercials, t.v. and film you'll need a great acting headshot.  There are different types of kids headshots.  A commercial headshot for kids normally shows energy and smiles.  You will also see many kids headshots showing character.  Some kids headshots show personality and quirkiness.  A theatrical headshot for kids normally shows confidence and strong emotion from the eyes.

Kids Modeling

How do you get a kid started in modeling and acting?  If you live in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago or Miami there are several modeling agencies that are on a constant lookout for children models of all types.  In a nutshell, you send photos of your child and if they are interested they will contact you to meet your child.  The best kid models are usually outgoing & comfortable with adults.   Child models are typically good-natured and enjoy being photographed.  View my Facebook site to see additional kids modeling as well as kids acting headshots.
