Your headshot should always look like you, however much of the casting is done online now and this allows actors to have several looks to show casting. In the commercial industry many child actors will have 4-6 different headshot looks posted with their online casting resume and headshot profiles.
A child actor can portray several different types. What is your type? Well your headshot photographer, talent agent or talent manager should be able to help you determine this. You can also view T.V. and commercials to see what "type" you would realistically play.
Subtle wardrobe elements and expressions can create a look or show different types. Kids headshots can include Tomboy, athletic, sweet and innocent or geek looks. These are just a few of the different types that a casting director would need when casting a role for a child actor.
